Artesa Gashi '22 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name is Artesa Gashi and I am 16 years old. I have been playing basketball since 4th grade and I have been improving each and everyday. I can shoot from the outside and play big in the paint. I am very versatile and love to compete. But I am also a team player and try to contribute to the team however I can.  Whether it'd be playing in the game in crunch time, motivating/cheering my teammates on the sideline, or trying to make sure that my teammates keep their heads high when they are having an off-day. This upcoming summer I will be playing for the Kosovo National Team and will be able to improve on my ball handling skills and aggressiveness. My grades are also very important to me. I try my hardest to make sure my grades are high and show a great representation of my work ethic. 

I have done a couple internships during my 3 years of high school. For instance, I interned for County legislator Vedat Gashi during his election campaign. I was also an intern for Senator Pete Harckham's reelection campaign. Lastly, I have done an architecture internship that not only help find out what I was most interested in, but also helped  me decide what I would want my career to be. Now as one of my main goals in life is to major in architecture and become an architect. 

There are other extracurricular activities that I am interested in too. I am a member of the Amnesty club in my school. This club discusses major human rights issues that are occurring around the world and try to see if there is any urgent actions we can take to fix them. In addition, I was accepted into a program that my school does called the Big Buddy Program. This is a program where juniors who will be seniors come into school a day early to help students from the incoming freshmen class around the school. Not only that, but to help the freshmen class adjust to high school itself and be there for them if they are having any troubles, concerns, or just need someone to talk to and give advice.
