Ever since I picked up a ball in 5th grade I knew I wanted to play ball forever. I like to live by the quote of “there’s always someone better”. My first year I was scared of the ball and I would drop to the floor when I caught it. My second year I was afraid of the half court line because I knew a trap was coming but by my third year playin I understood the game and I looked up to the coaches niece. I told myself the day of our first game “I love how she plays I want to be better than her”. I drilled and gave my all in practice, in camps, at home, and on my off season and by the next year I was as fast as her and I handled the ball better than her. This experience of determination showed me I can do anything I put my mind to so every year I find at least 1 aspect of my game to improve and I work on it until I feel I can add on. I fell in love with the fact that hard work can make a huge difference no matter how uncoordinated or lost I was when I first started.
