Personal Statement
I’m Ja’Riyah Burnett, A 5’11 diverse player meaning I can play all positions 1-5. My passion and love for basketball would make me a great player for any program interested in me . It was my 7th grade year when I considered taking my talent to college and even further. I say my 7th grade year because I lead a team of girls who were new to basketball in a 17-0 season and a championship win. Through basketball I have learned how to deal with not only diversity in basketball but also in life.
My greatest honor so far was receiving the MVP award in the KSA tournament in Florida. My freshman year in Highschool was the toughest year for me due to me having to sit out 10 games because I slight tore my meniscus. That honesty made me more eager my sophomore year to come back stronger and make up for the time I spent out. My sophomore I led my team to a all conference league championship. I am still young and have 2 years to grow and improve !
