Playing high school basketball has helped to guide my growth as a student athlete. Playing senior basketball as a freshman, junior, and sophomore taught me not only the power of acceptance and teamwork, but also gave me critical leadership skills at a young age. At times, my team struggled with getting to the top of our league. This in turn taught me very important skills: patience, communication and teamwork and also how to be an offensive and defensive leader.
When I am not playing basketball, I balance my time between high academic achievement, lifeguarding and track and field. Maintaining this balance is important to me because academic excellence, as well as top quality athletic programs, are what I hope to obtain as a student athlete in my search for post secondary education.
