I am an all-around athlete and have excelled in many sports, including cricket, soccer, volleyball, and track and field, before settling on basketball due to my passion for the sport. I have a competitive spirit and am driven to succeed both in the classroom and on the basketball court. I have been involved in competitive sports for many years, growing, learning, and working with coaches and my fellow teammates. The skills of handling pressure filled situations, conflict resolution, and decision making I’ve learned from sports and these skills I have also transferred into my daily life.
My leadership qualities on the court include adjusting to what the team needs in order to be successful each game. When teammates need a morale boost, I am always there. I also demonstrate leadership through my focus and determination to succeed academically, my work ethic during training and practices, and by the way in which I care for myself by prioritizing healthy sleep and eating habits. I was in the International Baccalaureate program in my Grade 9 year of high school and earned a spot in this academically rigorous program by achieving all A grades and also demonstrating athletic excellence and excellent learning skills and work habits.
I have always been a self-starter and have initiated many independent projects and hobbies through the years, including various craft projects, knitting, and baking in my free time.
I am a team player who will put the best interests of the team above my own. I am a very coachable person who seeks success in the classroom as well as on the court. I am an athletic, long, versatile guard who averages multiple steals per game, I am a lockdown defender, and I am able to score using my jump shot as well as going to the basket. Academic success is very important to me and is what I will be striving for throughout my college experience. I am excited for this next phase in my life where I am able to show the best of my abilities as a student athlete and look forward to this opportunity.
