Olivia Barkley '15 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Olivia Barkley and I am a 5 foot 9 inch junior guard for Elizabeth Forward High School located near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I am a three-year letterman and starter of a team that has a 64-15 record through my first three years.  We have been the WPIAL Runner-up, and qualified for the PIAA playoffs each year reaching as far as the quarterfinals.  Last year I was selected to the Daily News Fabulous 15 all-star team.  I love sports, basketball in particular.  Many of my best experiences have been just being part of a team and the friendships I have made.  I hope to continue the success in college, both off and on the court.

My style of play offensively is more of a slasher who gets to the free throw line and will hit the mid-range jumper.  Due to team needs, I have been asked to play some forward which has allowed me to develop a strong post game.  Defensively I play very aggressive, pressure defense often guarding our opponent’s best player.  I am a 3-year letterman and starter for our varsity soccer team that has qualified for the playoffs each year, and I lettered one year in track. 

I have had a successful academic experience in high school.  I am a member of the National Honor Society, and am currently carrying a 4.3 GPA. I am also a member of the Gifted and Talented Education program, a member of the Spanish National Honor Society, I received a Women of Science Award, and have taken 11 Honors and AP classes through my junior year.  

Last year I played for the Western PA Bruins AAU Basketball program, and this year I am playing for Metro USA.  Our team will be participating in several exposure events this year.
