Hi. My name is Chanel Bardetti. I’m 6”3 (189 cm) and I have been playing basketball for about 11 years. I’ve always wanted to play for an American university but I’ve had many circumstances that came in the way of me achieving that dream. I’m now 21 years of age was I still have not lost sight of that dream. I am nowhere as good as I know I can be: I’m a very hard worker and I know how great I could be with the proper coaching. I play mostly post but I’m training hard to become a more versatile player.
Here is a little history about me as a basketball player…
Before playing at Montmorency Cegep, I played for many different teams, but it was only in 2017 that I really developed a strong passion for the sport and was determined to be the best player I could be. I was able to excel each year but kept getting held back by injuries, until I realized I was strong enough to play on them.
I was recruited to play AAA basketball at Cegep Montmorency (Qc) in 2019. However the coach that recruited me left the year I came to the program, and the coach that took over knew nothing about me or my skills/potential as a basketball player. Also at the beginning of that same year, I was put on concussion protocol for almost the entire season even though my previous concussion had been cleared many months prior. Even though I barely had the chance to play, that coach decided I wasn't up to the standard to play in his team, so I was placed in the lower division. Afterwards, I was let down by my team and by a lot of my coaching staff as well, who didn't use me to their advantage. I was excluded from all team get togethers, and it was clear I was not part of the gang. I wished this attitude was excluded from the game situations, but I was rarely given the ball in games or believed in while I was playing. I had a number of injuries in the past couple of years and I've played most games injured, however this didn't stop me from making hard screens to allow my teammates to score (as an example). I, as a player, am ready to sacrifice anything to make sure my team wins. I've attached two highlight videos from my past two seasons. Hope to hear back from you.
Thank you
