Gabrielle Haefs '13 Recruiting Profile

My name is Gabrielle Haefs, I live in Rapid City, South Dakota and go to Stevens High School. I am 5'9, 145 pounds and my passion is playing basketball. I've been playing basketball since 4th grade and I absolutely love it!  I also enjoy playing soccer for my high school and with club teams. My high school basketball team finished 1st in Districts in 2012 and 7th at State.  My High School soccer team is a 2-time defending state champ and my club team has won state the past 3 years. I've been playing high school basketball for 3 years, the first year being pulled up to play as an 8th grader, and I've been on varisty for 2 years, starting every game as a Junior.  I also played on an AAU team this summer called the South Dakota Heat. We traveled to the North Tartan Meltdown in Minnesota, Gymrats tournament in Iowa, and to Wisconsin. Ive been team captain on my soccer club team for 2 years and one year for our high school soccer junior varsity team. I always show leadership on and off the court and always stay positive. I make sure to work as hard as I can at all times and show my leadership through encouragement, I'm always working to improve. Its always been my dream to play college basketball. I'm specifically looking at schools in the midwest or in that general region including schools in Colorado, Montana, South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa. I'm interested in some Division I schools, but mostly Division II or III, big/small, public/private, and/or Christian. My education is extremely important to me, making me stay focused and always working hard to keep good grades. My desired major is in Education, either Geography, Social Studies, or Physical Education/Coaching. I would like to play basketball all 4 years of my college career at a high competition level.
