I have always been a very shy person. As a result, I spent much of my time with my mom. It wasn't until 7th grade that my grandmother urged me to try out sports just to see if I would like them as she felt I was staying in the house too much. I selected volleyball and felt that it was just okay. I was then encouraged to try something different so I gave basketball a try, and this was the start of my personal growth. I fell in love with it immediately but found myself lacking in technique and skills compared to my peers. My grandmother found me a private tutor and he worked with me every Sunday. To my surprise, after only one month I noticed some progress. My school coach began to notice that I was faster with getting down the court and that I could jump higher to get rebounds. This motivated me to continue to grow. I faithfully attended both school and private practices, as well as pushed myself to the limits by practicing in my spare time. I practiced so much that I encouraged my friends to practice with me. Fast forward to my sophomore year, I was so good that I became the star player for my school. I also became the 7th player out of 50 in rebounding for my district. Basketball has helped me to discover that no matter how late I may start something, I can become just as great, if not better as others.
I also do good in school i get done what I can to play sports and be successful throughout the whole year.
