Personal Statement

My name is Shanna Teague. I am a Senior at Springtown High School Texas in the class of 2021.

I am a very hard worker in all I do. I always strive to be the best I can to be athletically and academically. I have been playing basketball since I was six and have been very successful throughout Middle and High School. This summer I finished my 6th season of AAU basketball playing for Team Xplosion in the 17U Elite Class. Currently I am in my senior season in high school and just surpassed the 1000 point career mark. I am the team captain and leading team scorer. I feel pretty good about this because I have made it back from a season ending ACL injury the prior year! In my sophomore season I lead our team in scoring averaging 15 points per game with a season high 40 points. I was very fortunate to be selected as district 8-4A All-District 1st team and the Parker County MVP Utility Player of the Year.

I believe the only way to achieve a goal is to work hard at it. I attend summer camps and skills practices to better my ball handling and shooting. There are always ways to improve. I never give up on myself and push through whatever comes my way by working and studying harder.

My grades are just as important as anything else I do. I take all advanced classes to improve myself and hold a 4.0 GPA. I am also the Regional President of the Business Professionals of America, Student Council President, and a member of the National Honor Society.

It would be an honor to play my favorite sport outside of high school.
