Sharaya Coe '19 Recruiting Profile

I was raised in an athletic family and began playing rec sports at a young age. I found my love of basketball as a young fifth grader. Being tall for my age gave me an advantage in the game. Being a quick learner gave me an opportunity to advance my skills and abilities, allowing me to progress quickly from rec teams to a select team and from there to club teams. The desire to continually improve has fueled my work ethic. I am thankful for the love and support of my family and friends, who have given me their support and encouragement along the way, as I couldn’t have been as successful without them. I am grateful for invaluable coaching along the way that has contributed to my accomplishments. My faith has allowed me to persevere even in challenging times.

It has always been a dream of mine to play at the next level. Playing college ball would help me to become a better player and a better person overall, as it requires hard work, dedication, commitment, discipline and much more. These traits help athletes be their best in more than sports. Setting goals and working hard to achieve them helps students persevere and succeed in all areas of their lives. While I may not know the area of study I’d like to pursue in college at this time, it is important to me to graduate from college. I believe playing college ball will assist me in being successful at earning a degree and preparing me to join the workforce after graduation, so I can contribute to society in a positive way.
