Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Dominik Datangel and I've been in love with golf ever since my dad put a putter in my hand. I started to take golf seriously in the last four years and I definitely fell more in love with it. I grew up in San Francisco, California and I started playing golf at TPC Harding Park. I spent many years volunteering and helping in their programs. I moved to Washington before my freshman year of high school and I currently go to Hazen Senior Highschool and hold a 3.905 GPA. I've moved about six times in my life and it has made me a highly adaptable person and I am able to do things independently and adapt quickly to new environments. I have been involved in the Filipino-American community in both Washington and California, and I have spent almost my whole life volunteering for their events. I'm also involved in my school's HOSA, where I placed fifth in the state of Washington in the CERT skills event, while also holding a leadership position as their secretary for the 2021-2022 board.
I was elected to be the Co-captain for the 2020-2021 Hazen girls varsity team. I hold a handicap of 10.6 verified by GHIN, with a tournament scoring average of 85. I placed on the second team in my sophomore year of high school, and in my freshman year, I was an honorable mention.
Education has always been important to me, and I overall want to go to a college where I can further expand my education in the healthcare field, while also letting me grow as a golfer. I have a strong work ethic and I have only strived to be better.
