Alison Mills '21 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I'm Ally.

I am currently a junior in high school and am doing a very well academically.   I love spending time with my family and friends.  I have a very eclectic group of friends so I get along with all types of people and personalities, which I think is just one of the things that  makes me a very good teammate.  I'm especially good at relating and working with younger people  and I will be doing a good deal of volunteering over this next year including a planned mission trip to South America.   

My passion to play basketball is extraordinary.   I love playing the games of course, but I also very much enjoy training and practicing.   Growing my game and stretching myself is one of the things I love about working with different people.  I work on my game almost every day of the week.  Be it team practices, individual training, group shooting clinics or going to the gym with my dad, I love to keep a ball in my hands.  The trainers and coaches I have worked with have given me so much and I look forward to making all this hard work pay off.  

What I am most proud of over the last 18 months is my improvement on defense.  I used to put almost all of my time and energy into my offensive game.  But as I matured as a person and elevated in competition it became clear that I needed to improve on the defensive end of the court.  I am now consistently being praised by my coaches for my defense and have been told that I am the best defender on the team.  My goal for next season will be to be the best defender in the GSL.  

I think my ability to adapt to all kinds of personalities and backgrounds along with my work ethic make me an ideal candidate to enter the very competitive world of college athletics.
