Madison Montgomery '14 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Madi and I am currently a senior at Cody High School.  I have been playing and loving the game of basketball since I was 11 years old.  My passion for basketball has motivated me to be a strong leader not only on the court, but in the classroom.  Excelling in the classroom has always been important to me and thus far I have maintained a 3.8 GPA or higher throughout the first 3 years of high school.  I like to challenge myself to achieve high academic standards by taking AP and Honors classes.  I am also involved in extracurricular activities at school and in the community.

I believe through hard work and dedication I offer many attributions on the court.  I believe I am an excellent team leader and motivator.  As a result of these qualities, my teammates have voted me as Varsity captain the past two years and Junior Varsity captain my sophomore year.  In addition, I pride myself in the ability to read the game of basketball.  As point guard, a high basketball IQ is an essential aspect of running an offense, as well as reading the defense.  Lastly, I believe one of my greatest strengths is defense.  Fast feet and the ability to read and anticipate the other teams next move makes me a key player on defense.

It is my dream to play the game that I love while attending college and I look forward to chasing my dream with honesty and integrity.
