I have been a competitive athlete my entire life. I was a competitive gymnast for 13 years. I was and still very dedicated to my sports. I strive to succeed and always give my best effort. I love having the feeling of succeeding in something, but not just me succeeding but also my teammates.Because of my competitive background, I put a lot of pressure on myself. I have very high expectations for myself and others.
I grew up sticking by this one saying, “Trust the process“. And I am very proud to say, I trusted the process. I got injured my freshman year, while I was a gymnast. This injury took me out of the sport I thought that I was going do for the rest of my life. But I decided to try out diving, and it was a struggle to learn at first. As someone who has very high expectations and puts a lot of pressure on herself, this was very difficult. Not being able to be as good as the other girls crushed me. But I decided to trust the process. I never missed a practice, I came in early, I joined a club and went to two practices. In the end all of this dedication payed off. My sophomore year I was 4th in the conference and my junior year I came 4th in the conference, 3rd in class states (all state), and I came in 7th in all of the state of Connecticut!
Not only am I a diver, but I also swim in High school season. I swim the 100 breast, with my PR being 1:14.5. I swim in the medley and 200 free relay aswell. I also play lacrosse in the spring with my high school. I am a midfielder and last year I started varsity for almost every game. Last year was my first year ever doing swimming and diving and Lacrosse. Trusting the process can really bring you a long way and committing to your responsibilities.
