I started diving as a freshman at Dunlap High School. Starting on the high school team was my first time experiencing the sport. I fell in love with not only the sport, but the teammates and coaches as well. This sport has shown me how to work hard not only for my own benefit but for the team's as well. Starting off was hard for me considering my inexperience, but as i got more comfortable on the board I came into my own talent as a diver. I won't say that every dive has come easy to me, but I'm always willing to put in the hard work that it takes. For example, I had struggled for weeks to execute an inward dive. My coach was threatening to kick me off the team if I didn't get my inward in one week. After many belly flops and smacks I finally achieved my goal. I feel like I have attained more than I thought possible, and I hope to accomplish much more. It has taken a while to find a balance between academics and practice but I am committed to equally upholding both titles; Student and Athlete.
