Diving is my passion and I am extremely excited to continue my growth as a scholar-athlete in college. My Name is Olivia Denery, and I am the reigning 2020 NJ State (NJSIAA) Diving Champion. I have been incredibly fortunate to work with my club team at LOB Diving, including 2008 Big East Women's Diving Coach of the Year Fred Woodruff (Rutgers). Diving became a part of my life recently, as I only began to dive in 9th grade. Through hard work and determination I now work with our Elite Competitive team training approximately 4 days per week. I am also incredibly interested in video analytics, carefully watching my training and competition videos to improve posture and movement for future events.
Before I began diving, I was a competitive trampolinist for 9 years. During my time with trampoline I was ranked NJ State, Regional and National Champion at several age groups. I have been to multiple EDP/USA Olympic training camps including the Bela Karolyi Ranch in Huntsville, Texas and the USA Olympic training center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I strongly feel that my past experiences with trampoline give me a unique advantage vs. other divers because I developed an understanding of the structure behind flips and how to have a very clean form.
As a scholar-athlete, I know it is incredibly important to challenge myself in the classroom. I have always pushed myself to work hard, and currently have a 3.95 GPA across AP/Honors classes, National Spanish Honor Society and High Honor Roll. Attending a strong academic institution in college is very important to me. I would love to be considered for your diving team and hope to hear from you soon!
Thank you,
Olivia Denery
