When I was five years old, I wanted to fly. My mom thought I was crazy but she signed me up for the next best thing, gymnastics. I loved it and made it my whole life. I made it to level 9 Eastern Championships and was training level 10 before I decided that it was time to move on. Deep down I knew that I still wanted to feel that feeling of flying and it took me almost a year to realize it. When my friend from gymnastics had told me about diving, I was instantly intrigued and did everything I can to sign up. I began during my sophomore year of high school and had a rough first season. It took me until this year to get the hang of things and realize that I love it just as much as I did gymnastics. Now that I finally found something that I am passionate about and love just as much as gymnastics, I would love to pursue it in college.
Aside from diving, I prioritize my academics. I choose to take the most rigorous classes I can and do my best in them. Along with being a conscientious student, I am a very determined athlete. When I want something, I do everything in my power to get it. Whether it’s an A in a class or new dive, I always put forth all of my efforts. I also value teamwork just as much as individual work, so I’m usually the one to take initiative to bring a team together. I feel that I can bring much more to a collegiate swim and dive team than just athletic ability. I can offer leadership, energy, creativity, and mostly fun!
