Personal Statement
Throughout my whole life, athletics has always been a huge part of the person I am. Starting very young, my ambitious self decided to try gymnastics. I was always energetic and loved being around this environment. Ten years pass and I suffered from a dislocated elbow from gymnastics. Many gymnasts before me transitioned to diving after injuries, so I decided to do the same. I was only going one day a week and trying to balance both sports. My parents finally told me to choose which one I liked better, and I chose diving.
I grew up in a house where work ethic and happiness was the most important thing. My parents always use that cliche line, as long as you try your best, and you like what you're doing in life, then you will succeed. They pushed me to become a finer person all around.
I've only been doing diving for almost four years, but wow, this sport has taught me a lot about myself. Being around coaches and friends that were just as weird and energetic as me, I felt right at home. My goal is to become the best student-athlete I can possibly be. I can't wait to see where this leads me in life.
