Lisa Shimmon '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello! My name is Lisa Shimmon, and I am currently a junior at Clovis West High School in Fresno, CA. I was introduced to the game by my dad around 5th grade, and since then my love and passion for the game has grown so much. One of the reasons I love golf is that I am constantly learning more. No matter the results from that day, I always take away an important and valuable lesson which I can use on my next round. Because of this, I am a very motivated player, and I am always working hard and giving 110% whether I am at practice or playing in a tournament. 

I have played varsity golf for the past three years, and our team has been very successful. We have won our league championship 17 years in a row, and the CIF sectional championship 9 years in a row. As one of only three returning girls this year, I am a good leader and I am a good team player. I am very coachable, and I love cheering on and supporting my teammates during their matches. 

During the summer, I played in many tournaments, including USGA and AJGA qualifiers, as well as JGANC and JTNC tournaments. I am currently playing in tournaments almost every weekend, in school season, and practicing or playing everyday. On top of this, I am doing well in school as a 4.0 and honors/AP student. Although I have a busy schedule, I feel that I can manage my time well, and balance school and golf effectively. I think that this will help me in the future, and in college as well.
