Trina's College G...I have been playing golf for seven years. Over the past few months, I have been improving rapidly, which is something I am very proud of and excited to see where it will take me. I played golf in the top six of the Varsity Golf Team at Great Oak High School in Temecula California for four years, earning my letter every year. I would love to play golf in college and have the opportunity to compete at a higher level, improve my game, and meet new people.
I believe what I can bring to a team is the value of persistency and hard work. In my Freshman year I put in the hours of practice needed to get the results I wanted. I improved my position on the team so that I would not only be playing in every match, but also actively contributing to our wins. I worked every day over the past few summers on my own and with my swing coach and was able to see the results this year. I once again made the top six with my lowest average yet. I feel that since I have been building up my skills over the past few years, I am finally able to play with more confidence. I am seeing real results now and I'm excited about playing on a college golf team!
I am also very passionate about learning and challenging myself with rigorous courses as I have taken AP classes and am currently in six IB (International Baccalaureate) classes, as I am a candidate for the Diploma. Academics are very important to me, in addition to golf, as I maintain a 5.0 GPA, all while at the same time finding time to practice and play golf, my true passion. I hope that in college I am able to continue to challenge myself with difficult courses to increase my knowledge and explore my many passions.
