Leading our team to the Florida State Golf Championship my Sophomore year has been one of highlights of my high school career. It was the first time in ten years our team has made it to state. The experience has helped me grow and focus on my goals to become a college golfer.
Golf has been a passion of mine since I was about nine years old. Initially seeing the success of my brother, I soon learned that with hard work and dedication, I could become successful too. My strongest asset is the ability to overcome a poor shot or bad luck. It takes focus and a positive attitude.
I'll be a valuable member of a college golf team because I understand what it takes to overcome obstacles. I have a hearing disability, but being deaf in my left ear hasn't stopped me from doing anything I've set my mind to doing, either athletically or academically.
