Personal Statement

Hi,

My name is Hannah Solesbee.  I started playing golf when I was 11 years old.  My first competitive round was at age 12.  I have been on the Varsity golf team at Oak Mountain Academy (Carrollton, GA) playing with all boys since 8th grade with several rounds in the mid 70's at the regional and state level. This year I have been able to play well in several events.  I recently played in a US Women's APL qualifier and unfortunately bogeyed the last two holes to miss by 2 strokes. (76).  That one stung a little.  I also made it to the quarter finals in the GSGA Georgia Women's Matchplay and fell to Amira Alexander 3 and 2.  She is a standout at UGA and I just couldn't make enough birdies to beat her.  I enjoy playing tournaments on several different tours ( Hurricane Junior), (Southeastern Junior), (GSGA), (AJGA) etc..... I am very excited seeing improvement with each tournament I play.  I really love this game and look forward to playing at the college level.  When I'm not playing golf, I enjoy spending time with my family and  I am very involved in church.  Please take a look at my profile and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Thanks,

Hannah Solesbee

  • Struggled holding the firm greens both days. Placed 5th overall out of 14 girls. 82 and 81 for 163 two day total. Probably the hardest course played in awhile. Only hit 4 greens on day two and shot 81. Not very many low scores in this one. Boys or Girls. Tough Course.
  • Camp/Event
  • Georgia Women's Matchplay
  • 5/29/14 to 5/30/14
  • Struggled in the qualifying round to shoot an 80. That put me in as a 14 seed and had to play the 3 seed (Stephanie Bennett who shot a 74 in qualifying). Quickly went 2 up after a few holes then let her right back to AS thru 9 holes. I was sitting 2 down with 3 to play. Chipped in birdie on 16 then won 17 to go back AS. Halved 18, then won on hole 19!! Too much drama. We both played great. 2 and 3 over for the day. A battle!! Made it to the quarterfinals and played Amira Alexander. Played well and had many looks at birdie, but they just wouldn't drop! Gotta make birdies to beat Amira. She is a great player. Junior at UGA and very solid. Fell to her 3&2. All in all a very good tournament. I have a lot of confidence in my game going into summer time. Hope to have many good tournaments this year.
  • Camp/Event
  • US Womens Amatuer Public Links Qualifier
  • 5/27/14 to 5/27/14
  • Bogeyed the last 2 holes to shoot 76. Missed the number by 2 shots! Ouch!!! This tournament was played at 6200 yds. Everything seems to be coming around! Working out a lot and strengthening core. Seems to be helping quite a bit.

  • Camp/Event
  • HJGT Huntsville Shootout
  • 11/16/13 to 11/17/13
