My name is Anna Bartlett, I’m seventeen years old, and I’m a senior at Oak Mountain Academy in Carrollton, Georgia. I have been a competitive swimmer since age six, but I didn't start running cross country until eighth grade. That year, my coaches entered me in our varsity region meet, where I placed second in my first ever 5k. I went on to place second at the GISA AA State Championship meet as well, which only motivated me to further pursue the sport.
Once in high school, my love for running continued to grow. Although I trained mostly in the water with my swim team, I won the GISA AA Cross Country State Championships freshman and sophomore years. After COVID-19 put a halt to track season the spring of sophomore year, I became very motivated to have my first ever real track season with a training plan during junior year. I had a few complications with injuries, but I was ultimately very proud of my season, and I’m motivated and excited to see how much faster I can become next year.
Off the course, I am a dedicated student and teammate. Taking multiple AP classes each year in addition to swimming and running year-round, I love to challenge myself and strive to achieve my goals. I am a competitive person by nature, and I want to better myself in any ways possible: in the classroom, on the track, in the pool, and in relationships with my family and teammates.
