Jessica Loera '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jessica Loera. I am 17 years old and looking to play collegiate golf. I am 5’4 and I weigh 110 pounds. I am a senior in high school, and I have been on my schools varsity golf team since sophomore year. I rotated as the number one and two for the season. I am a very studious person, and I am looking for a school to fit my academic needs as well as fit my athletics. I currently have an unweighted GPA of 4.0 and a weighted GPA of 4.411. I began playing golf when I was 12 years old. My dad has really made an influence on the player who I am today. When I am not playing golf, I am usually studying or spending time with my family and friends. In the summer of 7th grade, I made my first hole in one. Sophomore year, I was all- conference and placed 8th overall. Junior year I placed 4th in conference and even had my second hole in one during my round! I also advanced to regionals and sectionals. This year, I was all conference, helped score for the team in regionals to advance to sectionals, and took the 7th spot at sectionals, making it down to state as an individual. During the off season I spend an ample amount of time working on my swing with my coaches at the dome and using TrackMan. I train with TPS Players Service and they have taught me so much about how to improve my game and how to self correct when I am not hitting the best. At the moment, I am trying to increase my swing speed, so I am working with an instructor to do so. As of now, my average swing speed is about 92 mph. I carry the ball about 220 yards, and I shoot in the low 80’s, with an 18 hole low score of even par 72, and a 9 hole low of two under, 34. 

I have always been interested in science and medicine, therefore I would like to major in either physical therapy and biomedical engineering. The ideal location for a school for me is the southern and eastern region of the United States, but I am open. The locations I am most interested in ,but not limited to, are Texas, Illinois, Florida, Kentucky, and New York because I have family in these states, and I travel to them frequently. I would also prefer schools that have a climate on the warmer end. I am open to all divisions of schools, and I am also open to going to large and small schools. As a freshman, I would like the chance to play and score for the team, but it is not essential for me to be a starter my first year. I consider myself as an extremely hard worker and would make a great candidate for your team. Whenever I am unable to do something, I will continue to practice until it becomes implanted in my memory. Thank you for your time!
