Gillian Harrington '23 Recruiting Profile

I have chosen to attend Lewis University in IL.  I will not be playing Golf. I have chosen Aviation Degree over playing Golf at school.   Thank you so much for all the interest and offers to play for your teams.  

My name is Gillian Harrington and I grew up an only child. Growing up an only child naturally made my dad my sibling. Due to this fact, my childhood has overflowed with memories on the golf course with him since I started playing at age 4. Though I was introduced to golf by my dad, my love for golf was fostered by individual experiences as well. The beauty of looking over a course and being able to study its defenses, the first time I successfully executed a sand shot, my first birdie, and winning conference and regionals with my team are just some of many.

I have played golf all four years of high school and have been on varsity for three of them. I have always been an outgoing person, and high school golf has been where I met some of my best friends. In matches, I have always made an effort to talk to the other players, and am always there for my teammates.  I try to always be positive while playing golf, having the mentality of moving on to the next shot and learning from my mistakes. I am constantly striving to improve my golf game and value any input others give me to better it. 

Some of my accomplishments in golf have been being a conference athlete during my junior golf season without attending the conference match due to covid,  helping my team to win conference and regionals my senior season, and being a scholar athlete all four years I've played golf in highschool. This year during my senior season I also received the Indian/Coaches award for my team. This award was given to me for being positive and having the most sportsmanship on the team.

In the future I would like to become an airline pilot, and aspire to continue golfing at the collegiate level. I am very coachable and can get along with anyone. I can't wait to continue my golfing career and to see what the future holds. Thank you so much for viewing my profile!
