Personal Statement
Hello and thank you for taking the time to read about me.
My name is Jada and you should know I was born with an arachnoid cyst in my brain. In fact I am missing a portion of my brain. However, do not worry as I had surgery late December 2019 and I am perfectly fine.
I started playing golf just before my freshman year, taking lessons so that I could try out for the Tri-West High School team. I took to golf fairly quickly and made varsity my freshman year playing in the 5th position. I did however, play with terrible headaches from the cyst and it did have an effect on golf and my GPA. I never gave up and I never let the pain stop me. I kept improving; earned most improved and moved up to the 3rd position during my sophomore year. While still recovering from surgery in my junior year I moved to the number one position, made All- County, All- Conference, finished 4th in the Elwood Invitational, made it to regionals as an individual and won the team medalist award winning most of our school meets.
I am still improving my golf game and now that I have fully recovered I have started weight training to improve my strength and to add more distance.
My goal for college is to be able to help others in the future with either a degree in healthcare or education. I also plan to teach golf to kids in the future so they can experience this wonderful game.
I appreciate you taking the time to learn more about me and I look forward to hearing from you. –Jada-
