Collegiate golf has been a goal of mine for about 3 years. My aspirations are to play on a collegiate team as well as get a good education.
I'm hardworking, extremely coachable and dedicated. Over the last 2 years of competitive golf I have made amazing improvements. I went from scoring in the 100's in my first tournament to shooting in the eighties. I know how to manage my time well. I have had a lot of practice between balancing work, golf training, my school courses, playing on three hockey teams, as well as volunteer score keeping for my school. I've learned to set priorities and goals. I know how to set up my schedule in order to achieve them. In everything I have ever taken on I have strived to be the best that I can. I know that to be the best I can be, time and effort must be dedicated. I have always strived for top marks in my class and put a large emphasis on my school work.
I also understand that at a collegiate level golf is not an individual sport. You are part of a team that not only trains together but works together at each tournament to place well. Having played hockey at various levels from house-league to rep for ten years of my life I understand the value of working as a team. I am dedicated to everything I do. I do not believe something is done right unless one hundred percent of yourself was put into it. Unlike other recruits I have not given up everything to focus on golf. I take difficult school course and am very involved with extra curriculars. I believe that life is about balance and that the lessons I learn from my other activities, like my job or hockey teams, can be translated into my golf.
