Greetings from Big Sky Country! I am Ella Torsleff and I am currently going to be a senior at Gallatin High School in Bozeman Montana. My family and I moved into a golf community in the Spring of 2020 and I started playing golf in May of 2020. I quickly fell in love with the game playing with my father during the Covid 19 shutdown and decided to pursue the golf team at my High School. In preparation for high school tryouts, I started weekly lessons with our club PGA professional and registered for local junior level tournaments organized by my varsity golf coach. As a varsity golfer in my first season of golfing I saw a 30 stroke drop in my average score, which resulted in me qualifying individually for the State tournament in Montana and all-conference honors. I am continuing to train, and my average score is currently in the mid 80’s with a goal to lower my average score to 77 and help my team compete for the state title.
Academically, I am very determined and participate in many AP and Honors classes. My goal is to maintain my GPA at a 3.5 or higher and to continue to challenge myself with AP classes. I pride myself in my work ethic and I have held part-time jobs at a local café and the largest vacation rental company in Montana. Golf is a new passion of mine and I would be honored to play golf at the collegiate level, and I look forward to the future ahead of me.
