Personal Statement

My name is Sarah Beckwith. I am a Senior at Nardin Academy in Buffalo NY. I currently hold a 95 average at the top all girl Catholic High School in Western New York. I hold leadership positions in several clubs and activities. I am also the Captain of the Nardin Golf Team. Community service is very important to me. I am looking for a college setting that would challenge me on the course and in the classroom.
I am fairly new to the game of golf, only playing competitively for about 4 years. Through hard work and dedication I have improved each and every year. I have been a three sport athlete, playing basketball and lacrosse at the varsity level. My dream is to play golf at the college level. After my Freshman year, I made the tough decision to drop the other sports to completely commit myself to achieving my dream. With a strong focus on academics and a passion for golf, my goal is to be the hardest working student-athlete that I can possibly be.

I will be traveling to Zambia, Africa on a Mission trip in August 2015 with the Hamburg Wesleyan Church. We will be working with widows and orphans effected by the Aids epidemic in rural Zambia.
