Personal Statement
I’ve always had a passion for golf. At the age of 5, I was introduced to a junior golf camp and continued to show interest in golf that later on led to private lessons. My first year of competition was around the age of 8 where I learned about sportsmanship, commitment, perseverance and many other core values.
Ever since I was little, I’ve always wanted to be a doctor. After holding onto that dream for many years, I decided to focus on being a pediatrician.
My goal in college is to explore pre-med as a major as well as playing on the golf team.
As a freshman on the varsity golf team, I learnt how to manage my time where I can do assignments from the days I had to miss class to represent my high school at tournaments and also participate in our teams golf practice after school.
Prior to my Sophomore year, due to COVID-19 the golf season started later but I am glad to be able to play in events such as Hurricane Jr. Golf Tour, AJGA, Southern Ohio PGA, and some local tournaments.
School work load increased and it has been challenging due to COVID-19 and having to juggle school between remote learning and hybrid modes as the school district adjusts per the County's recommendations. I am glad, however, that the HS Golf season was allowed to continue. As a 4th year Varsity player, I am proud to have been part of my HS team's participation in the State Championship during my Sophomore year and as an individual during my Junior and Senior years.
