I took up golf seriously in fall 2016 with attendance at Saskatchewan high schools provincials placing 7th. I completed in the competitive golf circuit in the 2017 season, placing 3rd at jr girls provincials, and culminating with a win at the Maple Leaf Junior tour Golf Sask OOM Championship shooting a personal best of 74 on day 1. I had tremendous growth through the season from shooting upper 80s at the start of the season to lower 80s consistently. I had to opportunity to attend the Canadian Junior Girls Nationals and Canada Games in my first year of competitive golf as part Team Saskatchewan.
I really enjoy all aspects of golf; the personal competitive nature of the sport to continue to improve yourself, the comraderie and respectful nature of the game as well as meeting new players.
I was part of the Golf Sask. High Performance program for the 2016-17 season. This created opportunities to learn more about the sport, strategy, training, mental aspects, nutrition and planning of the game. The program really focused my interest, I spent the entire summer working on my game. I was at the course almost everyday. I really want to learn more about the game and continue to play competitively, I believe this season demonstrates strong growth in my game and quick ability to learn and improve.
I have been involved in numerous other sports including high school basketball (playing senior a year early), high school volleyball and softball. My goal is to play golf at the collegiate/University level while getting my education. I am in interested in a health professional program such as nursing.
