Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Isabella (Izzy) DeFinnis, I’ve been playing golf for 2 years and recently moved to South Carolina and made the varsity girls' golf team at my new school. I went out for golf my sophomore year and I tried out for varsity but I did not make the team because they had no designated girls' team so if I wanted to make varsity I had to beat out one of the boys to make the team, which did not happen either year. I am not sure where I want to go to school I just know I want to attend college somewhere warm and sunny so I can golf.

AwardsI have competed in Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS) I came in 1st place and I was going on to compete at States but that was canceled due to COVID. I have also received an award in Science my 8th grade year I was one of two people who received this award. I was also the Vice President of My Future Business Leaders of America Club (FBLA), and I competed in the Sports and Entertainment Management and received 1st place in the region conference. I have also been on the Honor Roll since 8th grade.
ActivitiesSince Kindergarten I have been taking art classes with Sue Hand. I am a member of my school's ski and snowboard club and I designed the club's logo. I am also a member of Student Leadership. I am also applying to get into Junior Leadership.
