Personal Statement
I first started playing golf with my dad when I was 10, with purely recreational intentions. The on and off relationship I have had with the sport eventually led me to pursuing it competitively by my 8th grade year. Between my coach-ability and determination I was able to make varsity as a freshman. Golf is able to bring out my highly competitive side more than anything else. I have always set very high expectations for myself in all aspects of life. Because of this, integrity is a characteristic I have always viewed as one of the most important, and golf is a sport where that attribute can shine the most. The vulnerability shown in golf, and the potential it brings to my creativity and unique perspective are both things that have made me further drawn to the sport. I have a large appreciation for the amount of mental growth that comes with playing the sport of golf, and I look forward to participating in a program that will help to maximize the opportunity of playing the sport I love and exceeding in my academic career.
