Personal Statement
I am a dedicated competitor, encouraging teammate, and focused student. I work diligently and rise to the challenge, but still have a sense of humor that my friends and family enjoy! I am Caroline McDonald, and I have played golf, along with seasons of travel soccer, high school tennis, and Tae Kwon Do, since I was five years old. I have enjoyed many rounds of friendly competition on challenging golf courses around the world, including an exciting hole in one this summer! In competition, I have played in ice, heat, humidity, and coastal winds in Texas and Florida, and I love meeting the challenges of playing this game!
After competing in the South Texas Junior PGA in my middle school years, my coach encouraged me to take my game to the next level, and prepare for collegiate golf. To support a schedule which included multi-day STPGA and Texas Junior Golf Tour tournaments, my parents allowed me to transition to online courses my tenth grade year. In 11th grade, I added Dual Credit college courses, and I am completing my final year of high school with all Dual Credit courses. I have managed my own schedule since I was a sophomore, balancing academics, golf practice, training with my Titleist Certified Trainer, my internship at church, and weekly volunteer hours.
I am looking for a collegiate golf environment where I can contribute to my team, both on and off the course, and be challenged to continue to improve my game. I am also looking for an academic environment where my instructors know who I am, will support and challenge me, so that I can become the kind of alumni the school is proud to claim. I play golf for the pure love of the game, and for all that it teaches me. I have been preparing on my own for this opportunity, and I am enthusiastic about contributing to a TEAM!
