Personal Statement

My name is Melanie Maier and I'm from the Houston area of Texas. I have played golf ever since I could pick up a club. Golf is my passion. I am a very hard worker and know what kind of commitment it takes to play golf in the collegiate level. Coming into my freshman year of high school, I was in recovery from a wrist injury, which caused some high scores and lowered confidence levels. I have since overcome the injury and have worked very hard to get 1% better every day.

Academically, I am a great student. I have taken all Pre-AP classes since 6th grade and have also started taking AP classes in high school. In my junior and senior year, I will be taking a mixture of AP, Dual credit, and Pre-AP classes.
