I have been competing in gymnastics since I was seven years old. Since that age, I have always wanted to have a future in gymnastics, such as an Olympian or collegiate gymnast. I always thought all other gymnasts thought the same until we had interviews for a travel team promotion. Then, I learned that I was the only one with future dreams of being a gymnast beyond high school where others said pediatrician or veterinarian.
My best event throughout my career has been Uneven Bars. In competitions in USA and Canada, I continue to receive podium placement on Uneven Bars even with a lower starting value. I have also received podium placement on Beam and Floor. Vault is currently my weakest event. In 2022, I made the BC Winter Games Zone 1 Team. Every year since Compulsory Level 4 was offered Provincials which I have qualified each year for Provincials. I am a team player by encouraging, offering skills advice, or congratulating my fellow teammates. I am very coachable by soaking in everything my coach advises and doing my best to replicate the advice in my skills.
I work hard at being a gymnast by taking advantage of every hour I can be in the gym. I also train all year round with additional weeks than what is required in the gym during summer training. I also have taken a Judiciary Course to judge levels Xcel and CCP 1-5. This has helped me become a better gymnast with understanding scoring as well as help my community by volunteering for their meets. On New Years weekend of 2024, I became certified for Community Sports Coaching.
Education is important to me. I strive to obtain a high GPA with college bound courses. However, in our school district, honor roll and letter grades (until 10th Grade) are non-existent. I have worked with the school to obtain letter grades to help determine an idea of my 3+ GPA.
Since the age of 1, I have volunteered for various organizations such as Salvation Army, Cranbrook Food Bank, Christmas Blessing in the Kootenays, MS Walk, First Baptist Church, Green Home, and Key City Gymnastics. I am currently a student on the leadership committee of our school called Interact Club of Cranbrook where we have more opportunity to volunteer and make a change in our school and community.
I am a dual USA and Canadian citizen. I want to attend university in the USA to compete as a gymnast while obtaining a degree to help me pursue goal of Medical School. I would like to be a role model for my younger teammates to inspire them to pursue their dreams and prove anything is possible with hard work and determination.
