To the Coaches,
(I am a level 5 gymnast and my name is dwan’ye larry)
I am excited to share my aspirations for collegiate gymnastics and explain what makes me a unique candidate for your team. While I may not be the best gymnast in terms of raw talent or experience, I truly believe my dedication, work ethic, and mindset set me apart from others.
My main goal in joining a collegiate gymnastics program is not just to improve my skills, but to contribute to the success and camaraderie of the team. I am passionate about learning, growing, and pushing myself past limits, and I see college gymnastics as the perfect place to challenge myself and refine my abilities. I believe that growth is not always about being the best, but about continually improving and persevering through challenges.
One thing that makes me stand out is my resilience. While others may excel naturally, I know that hard work and a positive attitude are just as important, if not more. I pride myself on my ability to stay focused and optimistic, even when things don’t go according to plan. Whether it’s a rough practice or a competition setback, I’ve learned that persistence and a willingness to learn are key to overcoming obstacles.
In terms of my athleticism, I may not be the flashiest or most advanced gymnast, but I bring a steady presence to the team. I have a strong foundation in technique and am constantly striving to improve. I understand that gymnastics is not just about individual accomplishments; it’s about teamwork, consistency, and discipline. I am always eager to help others on the team and believe that supporting one another in practice and competition can lead to collective success.
Academically, I value education just as much as athletics. I know that balancing academics and athletics at the collegiate level will require discipline, time management, and commitment. I’ve worked hard to maintain strong grades while also dedicating myself to gymnastics. I take pride in my ability to juggle both worlds and am prepared to continue excelling in both areas throughout my college career.
What truly makes me different, however, is my character. I approach gymnastics with humility and gratitude, understanding that each opportunity to train and compete is a privilege. I believe in being an encouragement to my teammates and fostering an environment where everyone can thrive. I am the type of athlete who values relationships just as much as routines, and I am always looking for ways to contribute to the overall morale of the team.
Thank you for considering me for your program. I am excited about the possibility of joining your team, learning from your coaching, and contributing to the success of the program, both athletically and academically. I am confident that my mindset, dedication, and passion for gymnastics will allow me to be a positive asset to your team.
Sincerely,
-Dwan’ye
