My name is Lorelei Mckeddie and I am from Van Wert, Ohio. I have been doing gymnastics since I was one year old at my mom's gym, Flip Tuck Gymnastics Center. My mom has loved this sport her whole life, and her passion has been passed down to me. What I love most about this sport is the way I feel when I am competing. I love how in gymnastics you learn from every mistake you make. In a competition, I take it by each event, and I always tell myself to trust my training. Before each event, I always recite "I can do all things through Christ". In my life, God is extremely important to make, and I know I couldn't do anything without his love and grace. I love the independence and how I'm in total control of how I do individually and I don't have to rely on anyone else. I love how it's a team sport but you can have your own victories. My favorite event to train is the beam, but my favorite event to compete is the floor. I think I scored the best on the floor because I am powerful and get to show off my personality. On beam, I train extra long on every day because numbers matter the most, and when I put in the numbers at practice it reflects on how I do at my meets. Muscle memory is very important to me, and my coaches prioritize that you should train how you would compete. One example is each floor or beam routine I practice, I always make sure to smile, so when I get to a competition I don't forget and I want it to be natural.
