My goals as a hockey player have always been to try my best and constantly develop my skills, the same thing applies for me academically. As a young student athlete, I plan on working as hard as possible, both on and off the ice. I take pride in my strong work ethic, and try my best to ensure that it is being displayed through everything it is I do. Growing up, I've played many sports including hockey, long distance running, basketball, Olympic weightlifting, and recreational golfing; all of which I continue to play today. Although I do enjoy participating in other sports, hockey has always been what I am most passionate about. In order to help me develop a stronger understanding of the game and make some extra money, I decided to become a referee. Doing this has changed my perspective on the game, and it is one of the best decisions that I've ever made teaching me responsibility and respect for officiating the game. Alongside hockey, school is of vital importance to me, my goal is to complete all three years of high school as an honour roll student and so far I have been achieving it. A higher education is something that I have been passionate about my entire life, with a desire to study in the area of liberal arts, possibly looking at a career in journalism, public relations or law. I know that university will be a big step for me both academically and athletically but with the support of my parents and my strong work ethic, I know that I will be successful on and off the ice.
