I have been playing hockey for about 8 years now, and I would love to continue to play at a collegiate level after high school. Neither of my parents played hockey, and when I started, I knew nothing about the sport. I quickly learned that I would need to put in lots of work to improve. I have been training hard physically and mentally ever since I started and I have improved greatly. Now I want to play the highest level of hockey I can achieve, and I will work hard to reach my goals and pursue my hockey career.
I played on coed teams all the way through my high school freshman year, and have found so much improvement through competing with boys. It has helped me become an aggressive-minded player and gained lots of confidence on the ice with my decisions. I played for the Connecticut Junior Rangers AAA 19U Girls team last season. I am playing for the Gilmour Academy Girls prep team this upcoming season. I am a hard worker and am willing to do whatever it takes to improve my skills and team play. I am a great team player, I communicate well, and I get along with anybody. I have a great hockey IQ and awareness on the ice.
I also played high school varsity lacrosse for my high school and I was a starter. Academically, I study hard to keep my high GPA and high grades so I can participate in academic opportunities. I am in 11th grade, and I have not taken my ACT/SAT, but my PSAT scores are in the 90th percentile among other groups of 11th-grade test takers from the past three years.
I want to go to a college where I am constantly challenged and improving both academically and on the ice. I am open to any opportunities that would be a good next step forward in my hockey career
