Hello my name is Hanna Kaustinen, I am a female hockey goalie from Vancouver BC. I have been playing hockey since I was six years old, but I have been on skates since I was two years old. I first started playing hockey at Burnaby Winter Club on a boys team. I played there for 5 years. During the end of my second year of Adam I got very sick, I was off skates for the rest of the season. I was almost going to not play again. But I got asked by PCAHA to go play for a female house team. At first I wasn’t going to do it because it was too much. But I ended up deciding to go play with the girls, if I had not played with them then the whole team would have collapsed. I made so many connections through that team that I kept with the sport. Just this last year I have decided to go back to rep hockey. I now play for the Richmond Ravens A1 hockey team. Hockey has changed my life and it is a dream to be able to play in college or University. I attend St. Thomas More Colligate and I am in grade 11. I have a 90 GPA. Aside from hockey, I play high level ball hockey, I was on the highest level of boys (playing goalie) and a high level girls team (playing defence). On both of my teams we won gold medals in the provincials in 2022. I also play on team BC for ball hockey. The summer of 2022 I attended the ball hockey nationals in Winnipeg. In the nationals we finished third bringing home the bronze medal.
