Personal Statement
I am completely certain that there is no other goaltender who loves the game and works as hard as I do. I put everything I have into becoming a better player every single day. For the past two years, I have been the sole goaltender on my rep. team with only a single regular season loss, leading them both years to the League Champions title, Playoff Champions title, and going to Provincials. As of the 2015/16 season, I am a BC Provincial Midget Female A silver medalist. The work I put is incomparable to anyone. I want to also say I could not have accomplished any of this without such a good team and teammates in front of me.
My academics are solid and I work hard to maintain a 3.0 Grade Point Average. I am currently in grade 12 and am determined to get the highest grades possible. My preferred field of study will be Criminology or Criminal Justice, programs that I know not every school offers. Although not all schools offer these degrees, I would still like to play the highest level of university hockey I can, while attending a school that does. I will not settle for any other degree because of the deep interest and desire I have to someday work for a state police department, and ultimately the FBI. Although I believe I have a bright future playing college hockey, I also believe I have a very bright future career and personal life.
Throughout everything, my parents have been more supportive of me than I could have ever imagined. Every day that they have driven me to training and watched my hockey is a day that I sincerely thank them for, and it is because of them that I have the confidence and determination to play college hockey at the highest level possible. They are both truly my biggest inspiration in life and I love them more than anything. With my brother also being a goaltender, he has taught me to work for what I want and to always believe in myself. My family is the most important part of my life.
I am a very coachable athlete and embrace every piece of advice I am given to become a better goalie. With that being said, I am also incredibly independent and I possess a strong mindset that contributes to my high level of play. There is nothing I want more than to work on obtaining a degree in Criminology while playing on a university hockey team.
