I was born in Alaska, arriving 3 months early, weighing less than 2 pounds. I had many obstacles to overcome at an early age, but this is a testament to my "fight to survive", strong will and never give up attitude. I take challenges head on, which is why I am a goalie.
I grew up in the mountains of Colorado where I learned to ski before I could skate. I started to play hockey as a defenseman until my U12/U14 team needed a goalie. I jumped in and discovered my best defensive skills are between the pipes. After my first U14 AAA season with Team Colorado I was invited and attended the Rush Showcase in Toronto. It was there I saw the hard work and dedication that is required to play high level hockey. This is when I knew my dream would be to earn a starting position and play the game I love at the college level.
I feel fortunate to have now attended Okanagan Hockey Academy; it has taught me how to organize and balance my athletics and academics on a daily basis. Coaches and teachers often would compliment me on my perseverance and that I'm a hard worker, with a positive attitude. I am certain my character, work ethic, and never-give-up attitude will have the biggest influence on my future teammates.
3 interesting facts about me that I haven't mentioned:
- I am a full right goalie
- I have a twin sister
- I am a dual citizen (American/Canadian)
