Sydney Akai '17 Recruiting Profile

Hockey came into my life by complete chance, but it changed my life the moment I started playing. It pushed me to be a better student, a better athlete, a better person, and have a bigger presence in my community. Working with kids through hockey helped me to realize that I wanted to persue an degree in elementary education, so that after college, I’ll be able to continue to work with kids, and be able to hopefully I’ve back to my hockey community as well. I want to continue to be a part of the hockey community for as long as I can, hopefully as a player for many more years, but eventually as a coach/mentor.
