I look forward to the experience of college hockey not only for the sport itself, but the relationships it brings me. Hockey has helped me socially overcome many challenges throughout my years of playing, and I hope it will continue to help me grow on and off the ice. When it comes to playing, I've always brought a positive attitude to the rink, regardless of the occasion. I stay positive in situations, even if things aren't looking the best for the team. While winning is important, these thing are my first priority- enjoying the game, encouraging my teammates, and staying positive.
Off the ice, I am a dedicated student and have worked hard throughout my high school career to acquire the academic skills I need to succeed. My grades and performance year over year show a growth trend that I am proud of, and reflect my readiness for the challenges and opportunities that college will bring.
I took a gap year after high school during which I worked and continued to play club hockey for the San Jose Jr. Sharks girls 19uAA. We had a rewarding season, won our district and played well enough at nationals to play past the round robin. Personally, I continued to work hard on and off the ice, and was awarded assistant captain by our coach.
