Samantha Ruggieri '25 Recruiting Profile

I'm Sam Ruggieri, and I am a Senior at Suffield High School. Hockey is something that I have loved since 1st grade. I value the relationships I've made with teammates, the competitive nature of the sport, and the lessons it has taught me throughout the years. 

Two characteristics that I find that sets me apart from other players is that I am a very coachable and a reliable player. Many of my previous coaches have described me as a coachable player. I take pride in this because it allows me to adapt to many different styles of play which can vary from coach to coach. Reliability is a trait that I look for in myself and other teammates. When someone is reliable (always showing up on time to games, giving full effort, consistent performance), it shows a lot about their character and the kind of person they are.

I am always trying to improve both athletically and academically. In school, I take classes that are challenging to me, and maintain a course load of Honors and AP courses. In regards to athletic training, I focus on skills that will help my athletic success like skating, shooting in my driveway, or going to the gym. I know that I have the capacity to manage a successful student-athlete career.
