My name is Kiley Wrzos and I am a non-committed 2024 grad. I am a left-handed forward currently playing for Team Illinois AAA U19 as #55. Last season I played a year up with the Team Illinois AAA U19 team with the same number. I currently attend Saint Viator High School where I maintain a 3.80/4.0 GPA. I am a two way hockey player with a quick reaction time. My best assets are my hands, speed, aggressiveness, and playmaking skills. I am selfless and will always look for opportunities to excel. My goal is to play college hockey at a competitive level and to keep pushing myself to be better. In college I would also like to study business and be able to pursue a future career in it.
What makes me a good candidate for your team is that on and off the ice, I am a very hard worker and I will always give everything I’ve got. Even if I feel as though I had a great game or practice, I will always think of ways where I can get better. After every game, I always go back and watch every single one of my shifts and I then evaluate myself so that I can do even better next game. I am never satisfied and I always strive to be better. Hockey has taught me so many life lessons and values that I constantly carry with me today. Such as sportsmanship, confidence, discipline, perseverance, leadership, friendship, hard work, mental toughness, and love. My love for hockey started the very first time I ever stepped onto the ice, so around 12 years ago. Throughout my life I have been a multi-athlete and tried many other sports such as basketball, softball, volleyball, cross country, and soccer. However, none of these sports ever came close to the love and passion I have for hockey. I love this sport so much that every time I step into the rink, I feel as though I’ve entered my second home. My teammates and coaches all feel like my second family. I will never miss a practice or training session unless I am utterly forced to.
What makes me unique is my mindset, work ethic, and passion/determination. When I am put up to a challenge or opportunity, I work as hard as I can and do anything to achieve it. Most people dislike criticism from their coaches or others because they view it as a negative. I view criticism as a reason to push myself. Any chance I get that will make me better, I take. This makes me very coachable and a good player to have on your team. Not only do I push myself, but I also push my teammates. On and off the ice, I encourage my teammates to give it their all and to never give up. Throughout all of the years I’ve played hockey, I have noticed that positivity and high energy bring positive results. As a teammate, I always make sure to remain positive and cheer everyone on.
I am extremely excited to continue improving my academics and athletics in college!
