Personal Statement

My name is Danielle LaMer, I'm an 06 from Edmonton, AB. Ever since my enrolment in hockey at the age of four I knew it was something that I loved. I have always been a multi-sport athlete (playing elite softball and club volleyball) up until recent years, I'm now primarily focused on hockey. I have always had aspirations to partake in athletics with my post secondary education. I have been playing with the Edmonton Girls Hockey Association's U18 A hockey team and the U18 KC Sabers for the past three years as well as being enrolled in St.Francis Xavier's high school hockey program for the past two years.

What sets me apart from others is my drive.  I received an ADD diagnosis at a young age, and instead of allowing it to become a crutch I have used it to push myself harder in every facet of my life.  The skills I have developed to ensure academic success are transferable to athletics - I am hardworking, committed, and coachable.  I am also goal oriented, and my goal in everything is to strive for excellence.
