2023 HighlightsThere are two areas of my life that I am passionate about - becoming the best goalie I can be and creating a better world. To do this, I set high expectations for myself and work hard to achieve them. Playing hockey at the collegiate level will allow me to continue to grow and improve as a goalie while also allowing me to pursue a career in law and social justice.
I am currently a 10th grade student in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League playing for the Okanagan Hockey Academy U18 Female Black team. As a member of a largely U16 team, competing against older and more experienced teams, I rely on my training and mental strength to help me through challenging games. I practice staying relaxed and focusing on the next shot to keep myself present and in the game. Throughout the season, I saw a huge improvement in my save percentage, starting in September at .825% and increasing to .905% by the end of February. The only direction is up!
I work hard on and off the ice to improve my goalie skills and to continue to be a top student. If you are looking for someone who will give their all to the team both in terms of playing and teamwork as well as succeeding academically, I should be at the top of your list.
